Are you ready to take the battery recycling challenge?!
October is Circular Economy Month and to celebrate Lawson Heights Mall has partnered with Call2Recycle and Earth Rangers to teach our customers the importance of recycling batteries by hosting a Battery Blitz from October 1 - 31, 2023.
Did you know that properly recycling your batteries can help protect animals and the environment? Batteries that go in the garbage end up in landfills adding to solid waste that can be harmful to the environment. This is why it is so important that you properly recycle your batteries year-round.
Last year Call2Recycle collected and recycled over 7 million kg of batteries. That’s about the weight of 1,400 African elephants!
The mall will have a large collection bin located just before the food court all month. When you drop off your batteries, don't forget to scan the QR code for a chance to WIN UP TO $10,000!
Don't forget to mark your calendars, on October 14th from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm Lawson Heights Mall will be hosting a CRAFT EVENT for kids to make and take their very own battery collection bins to help them collect as many used batteries as they can during the Battery Blitz!
While you're in the mall don't forget to check out the Saskatoon Waste Reduction Wagon and BN Steel & Metals to learn about more ways to protect our planet. You'll also have a chance to check out the newest transformer BN Metals has built using recycled material! >> Learn More Here <<
